Story
JVC's Videosphere was a 1970 CRT TV that sat in a hemispherical dish and could hang from a chain off the ceiling. It stayed in production into the early 1980s, and museums including MoMA and the V&A now hold examples.
Retro Lab's Time Planet keeps that silhouette but turns it into a computer monitor. The company says the 9.6-inch screens are Samsung or LG panels pulled from iPads. The base holds a mechanical flip clock powered by a single AA battery. It comes in orange, yellow or white for $659.99.
The company doesn't list its location, and the source calls buying from it a roll of the dice. If you want a sphere-shaped display on your desk, this is the one being sold right now.
